The whole glory of man lies in activity

-Leonardo Bruni

Hello and welcome to my website.

I maintain this site as a hobby in my quest to learn and be creative. Years ago this website covered my studies in college including objectivism, engineering & foreign affairs. Now this website covers my hobby interests including amateur radio, road races and astronomy. Soon I will include references to the old material. I've found that lately I spend more time formating the layout and adding cool effects than actually adding new information but I plan to change that. : ) Look for updates in the near future! JP

Music

My favorite music groups include Enigma, The Rasmus & of course the Nine Inch Nails. Yes, a bit eclectic. Below is a selection of music you may listen to now by clicking an album. Only samples of each song are available as this music selection is copywrite protected. Enjoy!

Running

Back in the day I ran cross country & track for The Ohio State University. I've since slowed down quite a bit but I still enjoy competing in road races where ever I happen to find one. If I don't get injured in soccer (again) you can expect to see me at the Marine Corp Marathon this October!

Books

For some unknown reason I've always enjoyed keeping accurate records. As one example, I have a list of every book I've read since I was 10 years old. The complete list is on the books read link above.

I am currently reading:
The City of God

Wine & Beer

What website wouldn't be perfect without a reference to the best (and worst) beer & wine in the world? This website covers what I have learned through the agony & the ecstasy of trial & error. Below are a few of my recent adventures and favorites:

Most Recent Wine Tasted: MASI Soave 1999 Remarks: Awful - perhaps I left it around too long...

Favorite Wine: 2 Brothers Big Tattoo Red 2003
(50% Syrah, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon)

Favorite Beer: Snakebite

(Must be 50% Harp, 50% Strongbow)

Thank you for visiting!
